Job Description
We are looking for a meticulous immigration consultant to guide clients through all procedures required to ensure successful applications. The immigration consultant will be responsible for furnishing clients with relevant information and resources, supervising the completion of documentation, and submitting data on behalf of individuals, as required. You should also ensure that clients are provided with accurate and up-to-date advice to enter Malaysia in a safe and efficient manner.
To ensure success as an Immigration Consultant, you should exhibit diligence, particularly when completing and submitting requisite paperwork. An outstanding Immigration Consultant will alert clients of foreseeable delays that cannot be avoided.
Furthermore, you should have a keen eye for detail and the ability to conduct in-depth research. You should be able to coordinate with different governing bodies on behalf of the client.
Responsibilities:
• Communicating with prospective and existing clients to gauge which services, licensing, permits and/or Passes they require.
• Providing clients and their expatriates with all pertinent documentation and advice.
• Assisting clients and their expatriates (including families and maid(s), if any) with the completion of paperwork, and ensuring that this is submitted on time.
• Verifying the authenticity of paperwork and supporting documents. Consulting with the Manager and the Management of any suspicions before approaching the client and their expatriates.
• Responsible for managing the entire application process i.e. from the initial communication, collating documents to submission to follow-ups, and ensuring timely responses at every step of the process including prompt response to inquiries made by the immigration authorities.
• Stress and anxiety often associated with immigration, managing the sentiments of the client and their expatriates, by ensuring that their applications are in capable hands and preemptively updating application status.
• Every client and their expatriates’ situation is unique, you may need to tailor your approach and advise according to their specific needs, ensuring them that they are on the right path.
• Navigating the clients to their Human Resource Department for matters such as payroll administration, personal income tax matters, accommodation arrangements and so on. Unless the advice required pertains to immigration regulation and/or policy.
• Keeping tab of client’s payment of invoices for services rendered.
• Proactively, keep abreast with local immigration laws, regulations and procedures which can change from time to time. He/She must stay updated with the latest developments, ensuring clients’ applications comply with current laws.
Requirements:
- Minimum a degree or equivalent, preferably in corporate secretarial, business administration, human resources, international relations, or similar fields.
- Compulsory to have 2-3 years experience as an immigration consultant, with knowledge of local immigration laws and procedures.
- Proficient in both Somalia and English languages (speak and write).
- Independent and proficient in research, fact-checking, and writing abilities.
- Outstanding verbal communication.
- Capacity to support worried clients.
- Strict observance of all applicable deadlines.
- Solution-oriented approach to fulfilling duties.
- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations.
- Ability to offer excellent customer service.
